Man in court for defilement

A man, 40, has been placed on his own defence after a Loitoktok law court found he had a case to answer after allegedly defiling his nine-year-old daughter.

John Kimeu appeared before Principal Magistrate Judicaster Nthuku charged that on November 13, 2021 at Olchoro village, he defiled the minor.

According to Catherine Nzilani, the child’s mother, on the material day she had gone to the market and when she came back she found her daughter withdrawn and not willing to eat or to speak.

She thought the girl had differed with others while they were playing. However, the following day when the father left, the minor revealed to her mother her ordeal in the hands of the accused.

She narrated that when her mother went to the market, the rest of her siblings went to fetch firewood while she was left with her father, who told the others he wanted to send her to the shop.

Instead of sending her to the shop the accused took her into the house, undressed her and defiled her.

Immediately the mother took her daughter to Loitoktok police station and later for medical examination at Loitoktok Sub County Hospital.

Denis Kitonga, police officer narrated how he arrested the accused four days after Nzilani presented the medical report showing the girl had been defiled and charged him with the offence, but he denied the allegations in court.

The accused will defend himself on July 18.
