Baringo Central MP Calls for Peaceful Campaigns Ahead of August Elections

Baringo Central Member of Parliament has urged residents to uphold peace during the campaign period after he was cleared to defend his seat by IEBC yesterday.

Joshua Kandie was submitting his nomination papers to the constituency IEBC returning officer Kennedy Onditi on Monday May 30 in Kabarnet town, Baringo Central Sub-County ahead of the August election slated for August 9.

While addressing residents after the exercise, the legislature assured them that he will improve their livelihoods as development was his main agenda in his second term.

“I will make sure more students are enrolled in technical colleges and also residents have access to clean water,” Kandie said.

He lauded IEBC for their efficiency as he did not take long to be cleared after submitting his papers and urged them to make sure the internet connectivity was okay to avoid any hiccups during the general elections.

“Internet connection should be boosted to ensure results are relayed fast without any delay,” Kandie said.

Kandie further urged residents and other contestants to undertake peaceful campaigns during the campaign period and promised that he will do a peaceful campaign and noted that his residents are peaceful and love working.

“White collar jobs have become scarce and we want to encourage more people to enroll in TVET institutions so that they become self-employed,” Kandie said.

He assured residents that he will spearhead development just as he has been doing during his first term.

MP Kandie will be defending the seat on a UDA ticket with his competitor Sammy Mwaita who is a former MP running on an independent ticket.
