Church rolls out peace building campaigns

The Salvation Army Kenya West Territory has begun a series of activities that includes peace crusades, road shows and sermons to encourage Kenyans to uphold peace ahead, during and after the August 9 General election.

The Church started with peace processions in all its 1600 churches in the region covering Kakamega, Kisumu, Kericho, Trans-Nzoia, Migori, Uasin Gishu and Busia counties.

Territorial Commander Margaret Siamoya said peace was a right that should be enjoyed by all Kenyans adding: “Efforts at consolidating peace can ultimately contribute to peace and harmony in the world and especially during this electioneering period in our country,” she noted.

She said the events are held in line with the theme, ‘Our nation, our home, Kenya for peace’.
