CS James Macharia insists only quality construction works will be approved

Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Transport Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, James Macharia has categorically stated that only quality construction works will be approved by his Ministry.

CS Macharia spoke at St. Paul’s Nyandoche Ibere Girls Secondary School in Borabu Sub County in Nyamira where he issued a cheque of sh.10 million for the construction of an ultramodern girls’ dormitory at the school to accommodate the rising population of students in the school.

“I will not condone substandard work which will endanger the lives of our young girls who have a bright future ahead and further waste government resources.” Macharia affirmed.

“We know this ultramodern dormitory requires more than what we have given today and I promise to support it further to its completion so that our girls sleep in a conducive and adequately spaced cubicles.” The CS promised.

He confirmed that he will send technical staff from public works department from the headquarters to do correct estimates of bill of quantities and ensure they are strictly adhered to, to ensure the structure brought up is of correct standards.

He further launched construction of road networks in Borabu Sub County whose total length is 60kms and will cost the government Sh3.6 billion.

Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National government, Dr. Fred Matiang’i who accompanied CS Macharia affirmed that he is working for the current government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The CS clarified that he pledges his loyalty to the president and citizens to execute his mandate effectively as directed by his boss.

He thanked CS Macharia for accepting to fully support development projects in Nyamira saying the cordial working relations will continue for the good of Kenyans.

Other present included Governor Amos Nyaribo, His Deputy, Dr. James Gesami, Senator Okong’o Omogeni, woman representative Jerusha Momanyi and Borabu MP Ben Momanyi amongst others.
