Kakamega governor elect Fernandes Baraza has said he is ready to work with everyone including his political nemesis for the sake of development in the region.
He urged his supporters to embrace one another like brothers and sisters in a bid to take Kakamega County forward with new developments despite political affiliations
“While our best agenda carried the day, our doors will always be opened for our competitors input on how best to serve the people,” he said.
The governor-elect said he will complete all the pending projects initiated by the outgoing administration and most importantly the ‘BaraSavula’six point agenda that will take the county to the next phase of development and prosperity.
The duo’s six-point agenda include wealth creation, education, social development, good governance, food security, health sanitation, and hygiene.
“No region will be left behind in the implementation of this blueprint. Equity and fairness shall prevail because that is what our ‘Maendeleo na Usawa’ clarion call is founded upon,” said Barasa.
Barasa was speaking yesterday at his home in Harambee, Matungu Sub County after being declared governor-elect
He said his focus will now be to deliver the promises they made to electorates having in place a solid foundation made by the outgoing governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
“I thank the residents for voting for me and backing our vision. You never despaired when our victory was postponed not once but twice, I owe it to you,” he said
He also thanked the ODM party for demonstrating great confidence in them and allowing them to fly on the party ticket.
