Kenol Law courts visits children’s remand home

In the spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Court Users Committee (CUC) Kenol Law Courts visited Murang’a Children’s Remand home, in Murang’a County on Tuesday November 29, 2022.

The Committee led by Senior Resident Magistrate took time to interact, listen to and encourage the children.

“The month of November was dedicated to the service of children in Kenya by the Chief Justice in a bid to hear, determine and fast-track all cases involving children across all court stations,” stated Nyaga

“Further, we are keen on prioritizing clearance of children matters especially those that have been in court beyond the statutory six months,” she added

Kenol Law Courts in conjunction with the Children’s Department has been holding legal aid clinics and sensitizing the public on the new children’s Act 2022 throughout the month of November.

The Court Users Committee also donated toiletries, clothes and other provisions to the remand home.

Murang’a children’s remand home holds children in conflict with the law for correction and guidance and serves Murang’a, Kirinyaga and Embu counties.

The remand home currently has 36 boys and 1 girl.
