Kibwana cleared to vie for Makueni senatorial seat on Muungano Ticket

Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana has been cleared by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for Makueni Senate race on Muungano ticket under the Azimio la Umoja coalition.

Kibwana said that he has requisite experience to represent the people of Makueni at senate and strengthen on devolution.

“I have the knowledge and experience on strengthening devolution laws in the senate since I have served the people as a lawmaker and a Governor,” said Kibwana after been handed over clearance certificate at Wote Technical Institute by IEBC yesterday.

Kibwana noted that his 25 years law experience teaching at the University of Nairobi will be an added advantage while representing the people.

The Governor said he is keen on ensuring that counties are allocated the required resources by the National government and will ensure that all the resource are utilized well to benefit the residents.

“During my two terms as Governor I ensured there was no corruption in the county,” added Kibwana.

Kibwana said he is committed to resolving people and wildlife conflict in the area that has affected many residents of Kibwezi.

He further added that his role as Makueni senator will ensure the people get enough water from Thwake Multipurpose dam.

“I will be engaging the people through a public participations forums in county on June,” he added. He was cleared by Makueni IEBC County Returning Officer Maurice Raria yesterday.

Other senatorial candidates who have been cleared in Makueni include current Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo (Wiper), Florence Ndula(Jubilee) Victoria Nzisa (ODM), and Patrick Mbau (Narc Kenya).
