Tharaka Nithi County head of rescue team Alex Mugambi has urged motorists to observe road safety especially during this back to school period.
Mugambi made the call after a matatu plying Chuka – Meru route ferrying passengers, among them students reporting back to school after half-term, was involved in an accident at Ntungu river.
Mugambi confirmed that some of the passengers sustained minor injuries in the non-fatal accident.
Mugambi reminded residents to continue using the toll-free numbers 1513 or 0728 222653 to contact the rescue team in case of an emergency.
