The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in Kisii Central Sub County, Kisii County are investigating an incident where a 6-year-old pupil at Amasago primary school in Keumbu Sub County was murdered in unclear circumstances.
The lifeless body of Justin Makori was discovered by his fellow pupils below a raised pulpit at a playground around 11.30am on Friday morning.
According to the area Assistant Chief Ben Onchungu, the body of the deceased had a cut on the throat and a string ribbon around his neck.
Florence Aori, the Deputy Headteacher of the school said the pupil failed to report to class as expected while the mother of the boy confirmed that he left for school at around 8am after taking breakfast.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) pending a post-mortem.
