Six KCPE candidates sit for exams in hospital

Six candidates in the recently concluded Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) sat for their exams in hospital after developing labour pains.

While speaking to KNA in his office, Loitoktok Sub County Director of Education, Peter Bitah noted the girls were discharged after safe delivery and were taken home by their parents.

The educationist observed that they have availed necessary information to relevant authorities concerning those who impregnated the girls to be dealt in accordance to the law.

Bitah pointed out that apart from the six the other 13, 568 including 5,661 who sat for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) concluded their exams smoothly.

Bitah appreciated Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Wildlife Service, local administration among other key players for fast tracking smooth administration of the exams.

On the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, the educationist said they are progressing well without any hitch and was optimistic that the situation will be calm till end of the exams.

He said 2, 221 candidates for KCSE are currently sitting for the exams in the sub county adding that there are 31 KCSE centres including one for adult candidates.
