Step Father “hacks daughter to Death”

The body of a six-year-old girl was recovered in a poll of blood where her ten-year-old brother was found unconscious with multiple cuts in Kibwezi East Sub-county over the weekend.

Makueni County Police Commander Mr Joseph Ole Naipeyan said the girl bled to her death but the boy is fighting for his life at Kibwezi Sub-County Hospital where he was rushed after the tragic incident.

He said police were investigating the incident which occurred at Kilungu B village in Kinyambu sub location following reports that the step father to the victims was responsible for their brutal attack.

He said the body of the deceased girl identified as Mercy Nthiwa was found lying in a pool of blood in a thicket with visible deep cuts wounds on the head and face while her brother Robert Nthiwa was found unconscious state with deep cuts on the head inflicted by a sharp object.

The Police Commander told KNA that suspect Samuel Nthiwa (40) had just arrived in the village on Saturday evening from Kajiado in the company of his wife Lavender Aziza (30) and the two children.

He said the officers were piecing up evidence to establish the events that led to the killing and possibly get more information from the boy if he regained his consciousness as he was admitted in a critical condition.

“The father to the suspect Christopher Kises (84) reported the incident to the police. The motive of the murder is not known. The killer weapon is yet to be found and the police are pursuing the suspect with the intention to arrest and prosecute him,” said Ole Naipeyan.

The body of the deceased was moved to Makindu Sub-county hospital for preservation awaiting autopsy.
