United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidates have come out in defence of their manifesto launched last week at the Kasarani grounds claiming it is realistic and achievable contrary to their competitors take.
Addressing the press at Kegogi ward of Kitutu Chache north constituency in Kisii County, the leaders further claimed the manifesto had been tailored to deal with challenges facing the youth if they were elected in the August 9, 2022 polls.
Kisii County, UDA gubernatorial candidate running mate, Migosi Ogamba challenged the youth to be proactive and innovative so as to create self-employment.
Ogamba urged the youth to utilise the 30% allocation given to them among other special interest groups by government on tenders to advance themselves.
The government’s public procurement regulations provide that 30% of the youth, women and people with disabilities (PWDs) be considered for the award of advertised tenders.
They claimed plans will be crafted to allocate more funds for the youth to allow them participate fully in development projects.
Kitutu Chache North UDA parliamentary candidate, Japheth Mokaya appealed to the youth to avoid being used to cause violence during the
electioneering period.
