Vihiga County Commissioner calls for collaboration in service delivery

Vihiga County Commissioner Susan Waweru has called on the officers in charge of various government departments to collaborate in order to offer optimal services to the citizenry.

Waweru said public servants have to complement each other while executing their mandates for efficient and effective service delivery.

The administrator, who was transferred from Bomet county, asked the officers to ensure that the contractors expedite the works on the development projects implemented by the respective departments.

She lamented that most of the projects are behind schedule due to ineffective monitoring by the concerned officers.

“Transfers are a conventional practice in public service and so you should always be ready for it. You should always live up to the slogan of giving your best to the clients regardless of the area you are deployed to,” she said.

The CC also appealed for concerted efforts to ensure peaceful election on the August 9.

She has asked the public officers to be on the forefront to sensitize the electorate on the need to uphold peaceful co-existence in the run-up to the poll.
