Lusaka swearing in set for Thursday

Bungoma Governor Elect Kenneth Makelo Lusaka will be sworn in on Thursday as the committee overseeing the exercise has almost finalised preparations.

The governor elect who is also the outgoing Senate speaker served as the first governor of Bungoma in 2O13 and will be taking the oath alongside his Deputy Ms Jenipher Mbatiany.

The County Secretary Joseph Wakoli Wambati said preparations for the big event are near completion.

Wambati said the committee is ready to submit an updated assets register, an updated liabilities register, a complete list of all bank accounts and reconciled bank balances, a report on staff establishment per department and a comprehensive report on county entities and corporations.

The committee, she added, will also hand over a report of all ongoing projects including donor-funded projects, an updated report on all pending legal cases, and information on the county source of funding.

Lusaka who contested on a FORD Kenya ticket garnered 244, 298 votes to unseat Mr Wickliffe Wangamati.

The Committee has already published, by notice in the Kenya Gazette and the County Gazette, the date, time and place for the swearing-in ceremony.
