Siaya UDA leaders reach out to president-elect Ruto to embrace Luo community.

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) political aspirants and officials from Siaya County in the just concluded General Election have appealed to president-elect William Ruto to include the Luo community in his government.

Led by James Waore Dianga they congratulated Dr Ruto for his win in the August polls saying they had faith in the leadership of the president-elect.

Speaking during a press briefing at Kalandini centre in Rarieda sub-county, Waore who was the UDA county coordinator and Ruto’s chief agent in Siaya County said the team worked tirelessly for Ruto to get votes in the region.

Waore expressed confidence that the bottom-up economic model ideology popularised by president-elect Ruto will bring economic transformation to Siaya people and Kenyans at large.

“Since independence Siaya has remained without industries or meaningful development because of bad politics. The bottom-up model proposed by president Ruto will bring transformation that will benefit not only people from affluent families but also those in the lower cadres like the mama mboga and Bodaboda riders,” said Waore.

Benard Odinga who unsuccessfully vied for Rarieda parliamentary seat on UDA ticket thanked the electorate for having remained peaceful during the entire electioneering period.

He asked the president-elect to fulfill the agreements signed in Nairobi during his manifesto launch.

“We want to congratulate Dr William Samoei Ruto on his election to be the fifth president of the republic of Kenya. We had pre-election agreements which include revival of the cotton industry, farming, education in the region which I am confident his Excellency will fulfill,” Odinga said.

He on the other hand reiterated that president-elect Ruto should not leave the Luos in the “cold” for the community has suffered years of underdevelopment due to bad politics.

Odinga also asked the president-elect to consider bringing back home Dr Miguna Miguna to Kenya saying he was a victim of oppressive regime.

He asked the Azimio team who are planning to petition Ruto’s win at the Supreme Court to stop wasting Kenyans’ time saying Azimio presidential candidate will eventually lose even if there is a repeat election.

Willis Oduor and his UDA counterpart Mr John Onimbo Ouma who contested Alego Usonga Siaya county seat congratulated IEBC for conducting credible and verifiable election where Dr Ruto was announced the winner of the presidential race beating Azimio candidate Raila Odinga who hails from the region.

They asked Siaya county residents to maintain peace and support the government of William Ruto to benefit from its goodies.

The duo asked Raila Odinga to change his brand of politics of forcing leaders on the electorate saying this has impacted negatively on the region’s development and eventually cost the Azimio candidate the presidential seat as a result of voter apathy in the region.
