Leaders from Kenya Kwanza Coalition have called on Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni to popularize his ideologies and show his development records and not muzzle youths to support Raila Odinga.
While accusing Kioni of assembling youths to heckle Martha Karua’s campaign trail only to have them beaten, the leaders said the move will not win him support but his records and manifestos.
Led by the coalition’s Deputy Presidential hopeful Rigathi Gachagua, the leaders accused called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to investigate Kioni, who they accused of fueling hateful politics in Nyandarua.
“You don’t have to whip the electorate to get the vote, what these people want are economic reforms and not constitutional change that will only benefit a few,” noted Gachagua, noting that Ms Karua was being misused by the state to whip the youths.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, who accompanied other leaders in the coalition’s campaign trail in Nyandarua’s Ndaragwa Constituency, challenged the law maker to show his constituents the roads and other developmental records instead of playing divisive politics.
“Let Kioni tell you (residents) why Mathira and Kiharu have more road networks than Ndaragwa and yet all fall in the President’s backyard,” alleged Nyoro.
The leaders, who were in the company of Nyandarua Woman Rep Faith Gitau, Oljororok MP Michael Muchira and UDA senatorial candidate John Muhia, made stops in Flyover, Magumu, Kipipiri and Maili nne in Ndaragwa. The rains that characterised parts of the day, made it possible for the brigade to address residents of Ol Kalou town.
