Man murders brother, then kills self in Naivasha

A family in Bonanza village in Kinungi area in Naivasha is in mourning after an elder son killed his younger brother and then took his own life Wednesday night.

Confirming the incident, Naivasha Sub County Police Commander, Mr. Samuel Waweru said the brothers Joseph Kagwima, 31 and Simon Kamau, 29 had gone for a drink at a bar at Kinungi trading centre ta 7:00Pm when a dispute arose between them.

Waweru said when the dispute arose, patrons told investigators that the duo went outside the bar where Kagwima stabbed Kamau in the left side of the chest with a knife. The victim was rushed to Naivasha Sub county hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In a strange twist of events, Kagwima rushed home after stabbing his brother and stabbed himself several times in the neck and was also rushed to Naivasha Sub county hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

The bodies of the deceased brothers are now lying at Naivasha Sub county hospital mortuary county pending postmortem and further investigations into the incident.

Distraught relatives and neighbours who were shocked at the turn of the events said they had never seen the two brothers quarrel or differ and are always together conducting their businesses together as partners.

The family and the entire neighbourhood is now trying to come to terms with this unfortunate incident that has taken away the lives of two family members.
